LETS COME TOGETHER AND HELP

Letter From the Founder

The cost of pads over the past few years has more than tripled due to taxes – leaving most Ghanaian girls and women unable to afford pads, as they are barely keeping up with rising inflation in the economy. There have been reported cases of girls having to skip school in the week of their periods due to lack of menstrual products, This could potentially have a huge impact on the education of these girls, as well as the livelihood of women.

Additionally, pads and other disposable menstrual products contribute heavily to earth pollution. According to Global Citizen, in a lifetime, a single person who menstruates will use somewhere between 5000 – 15,000 pads and tampons and is also expected to throw away roughly 400 pounds of period product packaging.

These plastic and non-compostable materials in period products can take 500 – 800 years to decompose. Period products all have their pros and cons and no one product is perfect, but some are less damaging than others. To reduce our carbon footprint on Earth, I believe it is important to encourage girls and women to make the switch to greener options like menstrual cups, reusable pads, period discs, tampons, period panties, etc. Not only are these alternatives greener but some of them are also cheaper.

What remains clear is that there is still much work to be done in the fight for equity and justice, both in the halls of power and on the front lines of change in our communities to combat fear and oppression and to advance protections for women and girls.

I vow to work to get these sustainable resources to women across the country, demanding a community where girls and women have access to sanitary and sustainable menstrual products

Yours faithfully, Khadija,

How Your Support Makes an Impact

All proceeds from the tournament will fund the purchase and distribution of eco-friendly, reusable menstrual products to underserved communities. When you play, you're empowering women and girls through access to essential health supplies and education.

    Tournament Format: Modified Stableford

The KCF Invitational Golf tournament will feature an exciting individual play format called Modified Stableford. This format allows golfers of all skill levels to compete and contribute to our cause while enjoying a fun, engaging day on the course.

    How it Works

Players earn points based on their score on each hole relative to par. Points are awarded as follows

    • Double Eagle (3 under par): 8 points
    • Eagle (2 under par): 5 points
    • Birdie (1 under par): 2 points
    • Par: 0 points
    • Bogey (1 over par): -1 point
    • Double Bogey or worse (2 over par or more): -3 points

At the end of the round, the player with the highest total points wins

    Why Modified Stableford?

    • Inclusive: Golfers of all abilities can compete fairly and contribute to the tournament
    • Exciting: The format encourages aggressive play, rewarding birdies and eagles
    • Forgiving: One bad hole won't ruin your entire round, as the maximum loss on a hole is limited to 3 points.
    • Simple: The scoring system is easy to understand and makes for a fun, competitive day

    Mulligan Holes

For an additional donation, players can purchase mulligans to use on designated holes.

A mulligan allows a player to retake a shot without penalty, providing a second chance at a better score. Mulligan holes will be clearly marked, and all proceeds from mulligan purchases will directly support the Khadija Cares Foundation

    On-Course Contests

In addition to the Modified Stableford format and Mulligan Holes, participants can also take part in various on-course contests, including

    • Beat the Pro
    • Longest Drive
    • Closest to the Pin
    • Hole-in-One Challenge

All contest entry fees will directly support the Khadija Cares Foundation's mission to provide sustainable menstrual products and health education to women and girls in need
